Shopping for Books.

I have $30.00 to spend on books for the infant room.  I could go to Chapters and get a few....or I could check out the local thrift stores and get a few more.  I hope.  Sometimes I think I am so picky about finding GREAT books that I often walk away with nothing in hand.  But I will be patient and I am confident I will eventually find some that I like.

SO WHAT KIND OF BOOKS AM I LOOKING FOR???

*They must be board books.  Paper pages wouldn't last a day!

*Although some older infants are capable of listening to a longer story, I like books with less words for really little ones

*Rhyming words in a book is fun  ---Jamberry, Little Blue Truck

*Song books are fun too -- The Wheels on the Bus or Baby Beluga

*Books with real photographs are something little ones can relate to.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS ARE.....

1.  Jamberry by Bruce Degen

2.  Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle

3.  The Very Hungry Catepillar by Eric Carle

4.  The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle

5. The Little Blue Truck by Alice Shertle

6.  Baby Beluga by Raffi

7.  The Wheels on the Bus by Raffi

8. Owl Babies by Martin Wadell

9. Good Night Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

10.  The Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown

11. I Went Walking by Sue Williams

This is by NO means an exhaustive list, but rather a few quality books that I think belong in an infant room.

So far so good....Five books for $4.00

I wonder what your favorite books are and why??  Share in a comment if you like!!

  1. At our house we really like books by Todd Parr, we have the Mommy Book, the Daddy Book and the I Love You book. I also like Pancakes Pancakes (although I usually shortened the words to that one when Chloe was smaller). And The Mitten!
